The Defiance, Fulton, Paulding Williams Joint Solid Waste Management District currently plans to continue offering residents, businesses and industries an assortment of successful programs including curbside recycling, permanent recycling containment/drop-off facilities, commercial recycling programs and educational awareness programs. Prescription Drug Take Back Day
On April 30th, 2011; local counties around the state participated in the second National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This program allows citizens to return outdated or unused prescription drugs to their local authorities for proper disposal.
A special thank you to the Defiance County MAN Unit as this will help keep these prescriptions from being on the street in our jurisdiction.
The Defiance County Sheriff’s office will also accept prescription drugs for disposal any day, not just on the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Defiance County received 64.5 lbs
Putnam County received 45.0 lbs
Williams County received 23.0 lbs
