NEWS RELEASE
The
Board of Defiance County Commissioners
met at 8:30 a.m. in the Conference
Room of the Board of Commissioners, 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance,
Ohio, 43512,
on Thursday, January 9, 2003. Present at today’s meeting were: Commissioners Tom Kime, Otto Nicely and Rich
Cromwell; County Administrator Becky Wagner;
and Deputy Clerk Joan Brown.
8:30 a.m. Commissioners reviewed the agenda for the day
and signed a number of resolutions presented by the deputy Clerk. Commissioners also reviewed and approved the
FY2003 Special Funds budget in the amount of $45,749,239.80 as presented by
Deputy Clerk Sherry Carnahan. The Commissioners also reviewed the list of
various committees and made assignments for the year.
9:30 a.m. Becky Wagner,
County Administrator,
presented her update for the Commissioners.
She reviewed with the Commissioners an update on the Auglaize Sewer
project from Poggemeyer Design Group.
The Commissioners were invited to attend the first meeting of the County
Safety Committee to be held January 22nd. Commissioners were updated on the status of
the KeyBank parking lot. Also, health
insurance figures for this week were reviewed.
10:30 a.m. The organizational meeting of the Defiance
County Board of Revision was held at this time.
The Board of Revision consists of Marlene Goodwin, County
Auditor, Karen Tubbs, County
Treasurer and Tom Kime, Chairman of
the Board of Commissioners. An election
of officers took place and Tom Kime was elected Chairman of the Board of
Revision, Karen Tubbs was elected Vice Chairman, and Marlene Goodwin was
confirmed as statutory Secretary. The
purpose of the Board of Revision is to hear real estate appeals.
