The Board of
General Session – The Commissioners were presented with various
resolutions and documents for approval. The
Commissioners reviewed agenda items, discussed upcoming meetings, and reviewed
and updated the calendar of events.
County Administrator
Becky also reported
that is time for the annual “Get Connected, Get Answers” training. The purpose of this training is to educate
county employees and agencies on where to direct questions from the public and
ensure those persons are being transferred to the correct agency or/ or given
the correct information.
Becky also discussed
a program called “Go Red for Women” which is being promoted by the
Cardiovascular Health Project staff of the Defiance County Health
Department. The staff is asking that
everyone wear red on February 2, 2007.
The purpose of the project is to promote awareness that cardiovascular
disease has no deferential regard for gender and is the number one killer of
women, claiming more than 500,000 lives each year.

Health Department is providing information on heart disease and is encouraging

Tim also reported the annual tons total for the year was 116,918, the
annual cubic yards total was 359,650, Leachate monthly gallon totals was
895,570 and the Hicksville Transfer Station had a total income of $12,500.
Tim also reported the 2005 & 2006 final cover construction is
complete and certified.
