COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2010
The
Board of
Russ
Herman, Defiance County Assistant Prosecutor, met with the Commissioners for an
update on various pending legal matters.
The
Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various
resolutions, contracts and documents.
The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed
upcoming meetings.
Amy
Galbraith, Defiance County Clerk of Courts, met with the Commissioners to
discuss her office selling hunting and fishing licenses beginning in 2011. Amy will continue to review the option before
making a decision.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance
County Engineer, met with the Commissioners for his weekly update. Warren presented his Accumulated Revenue
Report for January, 2010. The January
2010 accumulated revenue was $325,598.57, compared to $330,535.23 for January,
2009.
Warren opened bids for 2010
Bituminous Materials. Bids were received
from the following companies: K-Tech Specialty Coating, Ashley, Indiana and
Asphalt Materials, Inc., Oregon, Ohio.
The Commissioners took the bids under advisement and will award at a
later date.
Warren also opened bids for
2010 Crushed Aggregate. Bids were
received from the following companies: Custar Stone
Co., Stoneco, Inc.—Scott Quarry and Auglaize Quarry,
and Stafford Gravel. The Commissioners
took the bids under advisement and will award at a later date.
Tim Houck, Environmental
Services Director, met with the Commissioners to open bids for One (1) New D8R 2002 High Track Undercarriage Replacement. The following bids were received: Ohio CAT-$67,656.66; J & C
Repair-$48,485.76. The Commissioners
took the bids under advisement and will award at a later date.
Wayne Olsson and Pam
Schroeder, Defiance County Board of Elections, met with the Commissioners to
discuss service contracts that are necessary for the 2010 elections.v
The Commissioners authorized a contract with Platinum Resource, Inc for
$6,275.00 for equipment and resource support for the May primary.
Members of the Fair
Foundation met with the Commissioners to review their fundraising efforts and
grandstand project recommendations.
Jack Graf, Defiance County
Job & Family Services, met with the Commissioners to discuss personnel.
The Commissioners attended
a public hearing held by the Defiance County Engineer, in conjunction with Highland
Township Trustees, regarding possible vacating/closing/improving the bridge on Hill
Road south of Mansfield Road.
The Commissioners will be
having a Special Session on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Defiance County East
to discuss the Electricity Aggregate Program.
