DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2010

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Chairman James E. Harris, Jr. called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioners Thomas L. Kime and Otto L. Nicely, Laura Howell, Administrator, Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk.

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

Laura Howell, Administrator, met with the Commissioners to provide her weekly update.

Laura informed the Commissioners that Defiance County Child Support provided the following status report for January, 2010: Approximate caseload: 3,125; collections year-to-date: $525,524; expenditures year-to-date: $49,972.92; average collection per case: $187.00.

Bob Wagner, Auglaize Village Board President, met with the Commissioners to provide an update. Mr. Wagner reported that during 2009, volunteers logged over 7,044 hours. The following projects were completed: ADA parking lot, sidewalk around restroom, and sidewalks and doors at Science and Military Buildings; concrete slabs for tile ditcher and machinery; sided east side of Military Building; sided upper south side of shop, new siting for display for railroad; new concrete floor and ceiling for barn; moved wall in barn for shoe shop; fixed Schoolhouse floor.

On Friday, February 19, 2010, the Commissioners will be attending the Defiance Soil & Water Conservation District’s 2010 Annual Planning Meeting at the Evergreen Lane Office Complex.
