The Board of
Russ Herman, Defiance County Assistant Prosecutor, met briefly with the
Commissioners. Mr. Herman updated the
Board on legal matters in the Prosecutor's office.
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents, approved several travel requests, reviewed the agenda items and the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners and
opened bids for several projects. Two bids received for the 2008 Pavement
Markings: Aero-Mark in the amount of $162,960.66 and Ogelsby Construction, Inc.
in the amount of $166,965.42. Two (2) bids were also received for the Paving of
the Defiance County East Parking Lot: D. G. Slurry Seal of Toledo, Inc. in the
amount of $37,331.50 and Stawser Inc. in the amount of $45,704.00. Five (5)
bids were received for the 2008 Crack Seal: American Pavements, Inc. in the
amount of $82,882.50, DG Slurry Seal of Toledo, Inc. in the amount of
$84,167.50, M&M Asphalt in the amount of $83,525.00, S.A. Sidle
Construction, Inc. in the amount of $87,958.25 and Strawser, Inc. in the amount
of $98,623.75. The bids were taken under advisement and upon the recommendation
of
Liz Keel and Dennis Miller, Maumee Valley Planning Organization, met
with the Commissioners to hold the 1st Public Hearing for the FY
2008 Community Housing Improvement Program. Liz and Dennis reviewed the
application deadlines for the various projects. A 2nd Public Hearing
will be held at a later date.
Les McCaslin, Four County ADAMhs Board, met with the Commissioners to
provide an update date. Les advised that he is keeping a close eye on the FY
2009 Budget in regards to mental health funding and the possibility of closing
several mental health facilities in the State. He also stated that the Board of
Commissioners will have to make an appointment to the ADAMhs Board this summer
as the term of one of
