DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

THURSDAY, MARCH 2, 2006

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Board of Defiance County Commissioners, 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512 on Thursday, March 2, 2006. Vice-Chairman Richard L. Cromwell called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioner Otto L. Nicely, Becky Wagner, Administrator, and Joanne Goerlitz, Deputy Clerk.

8:30 A.M. General Session - The Commissioners were presented with various resolutions and documents for approval. The Commissioners also discussed upcoming meetings and reviewed the calendar of events.

Jane Tadsen, Defiance County Recorder, submitted her February, 2006 Report. During the month of February the total instruments were as follows: Deeds – 146, Mortgages – 248, Releases – 208, Power of Attorney – 1, Soldiers Discharges – 1. The total for the month of February, 2006 was $32,850.25. $16,185.50 for the Housing Trust Fund and $16,664.75 for the General Fund.

Commissioners Richard Cromwell and Otto Nicely attended the General Motors Presentation for Local Government Officials held on March 2, 2006 at the General Motors Defiance Castings Plant. Highlights of the event included the opportunity to see the 2006 Parallel Hybrid Truck featuring a combination of electrical and conventional power systems, the new 2007 Tahoe providing an alternative fuel option and the new 2006 Chevrolet Impala Police Vehicle. Information on Fleet and Government purchasing options was also provided.
