OPENING:    

 

The regular meeting of the Board of Defiance County Commissioners was called to order at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2002, in the Conference Room of the Board of Defiance County Commissioners, 500 Court Street, Defiance, Ohio  43512 by Chairman Otto L. Nicely.

8:30 a.m.            General Session

 

Tim Houck, Landfill Manager, submitted his February, 2002, District Fee Report.  In-district was received totaled 4,502.95 tons, out-of-district waste received totaled 135.29 tons and out-of-state waste received was 30.21 tons.  Total amount due to the District for February equals $4,833.95.

 

9:30 a.m. – Becky Wagner, Operations Manager/Administrator, presented her weekly update.

Jane Tadsen, County Recorder, has requested approval to tour the Urbana administrative building.  It has undergone renovations/remodeling and she was interested in seeing the facility.  The Commissioners are also interested in going.  Becky and Mark Hopper, Public Safety Services Coordinator, will be contacting CORSA (County Risk Sharing Authority) to meet with their representative, Tom Carabin, to complete a building inspection at Auglaize Village.  Becky informed the Commissioners that, during Wednesday’s Supervisor’s meeting, several department heads raised concerns about the number of young skateboarders in the parking lots and sidewalks around the Courthouse and other County buildings.  Ms. Wagner also requested and received approval to attend a regional administrator’s meeting Friday, April 5th in Fulton County. 

 

10:10 a.m.             Commissioners left at this time to attend a NORED (Northwest Ohio Regional Economic Development) luncheon/meeting in Maumee with Jerry Hayes, Economic Development Director and Nancy Zipfel, Administrative Assistant.
