The Board of
8:30 a.m. General Session Commissioners approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents, approved several travel requests, reviewed the agenda items and the calendar of events, discussed upcoming meetings and updated information for the calendar of events.
On behalf of the Commissioners, Commissioner Nicely signed the Engineer’s contract books for the Banner School/Christi Road Bridge project.
A Town Meeting was held yesterday, March 23 at the Department of Job and Family Services facility. It was held to receive input from attendees to develop a mission statement, vision statement and performance outcomes. The information gleaned from these meetings will be turned over to a leadership committee who will evaluate and determine the products for Job and Family Services.

2:00 p.m. Defiance
County Commissioners Otto Nicely and Rich Cromwell and County Engineer, Warren
Schlatter, met with Williams County Commissioners Marv Stuckey, Tom Strup and
Duane Votaw and their Engineer, Dennis Bell, at the Soil and Water Conservation
District on Evansport Road for a Joint Lick Creek meeting. Also attending the meeting was: Doug Johnson,
Mayor of Bryan; Todd Roth, Bryan City Engineer; Scott Miller, RC & D; Jeff
Ankney, Defiance Soil and Water Conservation District; Becky Wagner, Defiance
County Administrator and Alison Grimes, Defiance County Clerk. The group reviewed the Joint Lick Creek Ditch
Project. Dennis Bell submitted a proposal
that his office complete the preliminary engineering for the project which
entails inspecting approximately 30 miles of ditch that is not presently under
ditch maintenance. After discussion, the
Joint Board agreed to split the cost of the preliminary engineering, estimated
at $30,414, between the two counties (
