DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2007

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, April 2, 2007  at 8:30 a.m., in the Conference Room of the Defiance County Commissioners, 500 Court Street, Defiance, OH 43512.  Commissioner Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioner James E. Harris, Jr., and Joanne Goerlitz, Deputy Clerk. 

 

General Session – The Commissioners were presented with various resolutions and documents for approval.  The Commissioners reviewed agenda items, discussed upcoming meetings, and reviewed and updated the calendar of events.

 

Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Board of Commissioners for the bid opening of the 2007 Bridge Material Beams.  The estimated cost of the project includes Bostater Road east of Mulligans Bluff Road - $125,000; and Huber Road west of Cicero Road - $40,000.  The bids received:  Fort Defiance Construction, Defiance, Ohio - Bostater Road location:  $127,225.00; Huber Road location:  $35,000.00; total bid:  $162,225.00 

R.G. Zachrich Construction, Defiance, Ohio - Bostater Road location:  $123,788.00; Huber Road location:  $36,493.00; total bid:  $160,181.00

 

Proposed dates were set for the Farmer-Mark Road Tile Project in Farmer Township on May 24, 2007 for the viewing and on June 25, 2007 for the hearing.  Notices will be mailed to the landowners affected by the project on the date and time of viewing and hearing.

 

Maumee Valley Planning Organization's Director, Dennis Miller, met with the Board of Commissioners for an update on the R & L Enterprises project at the City Industrial Park finances.  Mr. Miller presented a Professional Services Agreement with Applied Environmental, LLC of Fort Wayne, Indiana, as consultant for the work study to be done in the wetlands area of the proposed Senior Services building project.  The agreement will be sent to the County Prosecutor's office for review before Commissioners approve services.

 

Jane Tadsen, Defiance County Recorder, submitted the following totals for the month of March, 2007:

The total of the Recorder's Office collection of fees for the month of March was $28,295.40.  $13,936.20 for the Housing Trust Fund and $14,359.20 for the General Fund.
