The Board of
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents, approved several travel requests, reviewed the agenda items and the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
Laura Howell,
Administrator, provided the Commissioners with her weekly operations update.
Ron Cereghin had previously obtained quotes for painting several barn roofs out
at Evergreen Lane Office Complex but the Board had requested additional
information before making a decision. Ron obtained additional information on
paint type, warranty, and the cost of putting on synthetic rubberized roofs
instead of repainting the old ones. Three quotes were received for the acrylic
roof paint: Campbell Painting - $4,845.00, CR Hunt - $6,062.00, and Roehrig
Painting - $7,120.00. Campbell Painting and CR Hunt submitted quotes for the
synthetic rubberized roofs: Campbell Painting - $12,725.00 and CR Hunt -
$9,834.00. The Board authorized hiring Campbell Painting to paint the barn
roofs using the acrylic paint at a cost of $4,845.00.
Laura also stated
that Ron Cereghin has been approached, by a County employee, about recycling
fluorescent light bulbs. Ron has contacted McNaughton-McKay and H. Poll
Electric, the County’s current fluorescent light bulb suppliers, about the cost
of recycling them. The County uses approximately 600 fluorescent light bulbs a
year. The cost to recycle these is approximately $300-400.00.
Greg Reinhart,
Wastewater Director, informed Laura that he has been working on the pumps at
the Auglaize Pines wastewater treatment plant. Greg, Clint Clauson, Wastewater
Operator, and John Shankster worked on the pumps and were able to fix one but
the other was still leaking. The Board instructed Laura to inform Greg to pull
the failed pump out and try to fix it.
Marlene Goodwin,
Auditor, Jill Little, Barb Lasek and Sharon Scheuerman, Deputy Auditors, met
with the Commissioners to provide a quarterly update. Also discussed was
pending legislation. Marlene also advised that the County was flown over this
past weekend for aerial mapping.
