Also,
The Defiance County
Environmental Director, Tim Houck came in for his monthly update.

workers picking up the deer that have been hit and left on the sides of the
roads and disposing of them at the landfill.
Tim as well as the Commissioners questioned whose responsibility it is
or who’s responsibility it should be to collect them. Tim reported Environmental Services has been
doing this job for a number of years now.
No decisions were made at this time, but the Commissioners will have
further discussion as to who they would prefer to handle this matter.
Tim reported March
was a record month for annual sales as compared to previous years.
Annual tons for the
month of March were 9,552 for a year to date of 27,365. Annual cubic yard totals to date are at
71,278.

his report for compacted Vs loose cubic yards.
Year-to-date compacted are at 47,639, year-to-date loose is at 23,639.
The leachate monthly

indicated the reason for the drop is not only the lack of rain, but there are
no open cells.
Tim also reported
the Hicksville Transfer Station collected $1,895 year to date and is now open
