The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session on
Monday, May 7, 2007 at 8:30 a.m., in the Conference Room of the
General Session – The Commissioners were presented with various
resolutions and documents for approval. The
Commissioners reviewed agenda items, discussed upcoming meetings, reviewed and
updated the calendar of events.
Jane Tadsen, Defiance County Recorder, submitted her report for April,
2007 to the Commissioners, Jane reported
recording 148 Deeds, 239 Mortgages, 247 Releases, 3 Leases and 5 Power of
Attorneys. Jane also reported the total
for the month of April, 2007 was $28,554.50 of which $14,083.50 went toward the
Housing Trust Fund and $14,471.00 for the General Fund.
The Commissioners approved a Professional Services Agreement with
Applied Environmental, LLC of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Applied Environmental will complete a
determination and delineation of possible wetland areas which may exist within
the limits of a land parcel located at 1300 E.
Russ Herman, Defiance County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, met with
the Commissioners to update the Board on pending issues at the Prosecutor's
office.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with Board for the 2007
Bridge Materials-Pipe Bid Opening. One

The Commissioners accepted the Bid Proposal for further consideration
and upon the recommendation of the
Tina Hiler, Director of Senior Services, met with the Commissioners for
an update. Tina reviewed with the Board
the FY 2006 Special Project Grant with the Commissioners. The Grant is funded by the Congress in the
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Defiance County Senior Services will receive
funding in the amount of $297,000.00 to be used for the proposed construction
of the
Tina informed the Commissioners that The Senior Prom will be held on May
24th at the Defiance County Eagles. Tina
also mentioned that Senior Services will be closed on Monday, June 4th for
mandatory Senior Services training.
