The Board of
General Session –
The Commissioners were presented with various resolutions and documents for
approval. Commissioners also reviewed
agenda items, discussed upcoming meetings and reviewed and updated the calendar
of events.

Marking Project bid to Aero-Mark, Inc.,
Other resolutions passed were for the
Defiance County Engineer’s Office.
Warren Schlatter is working on several bridge projects. Two of those bridges are located on Fountain
Street Road. One is located 0.25 miles
east of
The Commissioners
received information from Becky Wagner, Defiance County Administrator regarding
blacktop sealing for the lot beside the courthouse – approximately 8,160 square
feet along with striping 24 parking stalls.
Becky also submitted
quotes to the Board of Commissioners on blacktop sealing for the north lot by
the courthouse which is approximately 11,940 square feet along with crack
sealing 675 linear feet and striping 38 parking stalls.
Also quoted was the
parking area between the VFW and the Courthouse which includes 3,000 feet of
blacktop sealing and striping of 15 parking stalls.
The Commissioners
elected to use Hill Paving LLC for these projects for a total cost of $3,514
and includes 2 coats of seal on the three lots.
The Commissioners
met with Tim Houck, Director of Environmental Services who reviewed his report
for the Month of May.
The monthly tons
collected are at 11,445.62 and 48,420 year-too-date. Total monthly cubic yards for the month of
May were 32,143 with a year-to-date total of 131,247.
Loose cubic yards
are at 47,954 or 37% of the annual percentage and compacted cubic yards are
83,293 or 63% of the annual percentage. The month of May indicates 19,389 compacted
cubic yards and 12,754 loose cubic yards.
Tim reported the
annual tons total for May is at 11,446 for a year-to-date total of 48,420.
Tim reported 75,020 gallons
of Leachate for a total of 432,780 year-to-date.
The Hicksville
Transfer Station has collected $5,391 year-to-date as compared to the total
sales for 2005 was $4,581.
