calendar of events.
10:00 a.m. Gaylon Davis,

presented his weekly update at this time.
He distributed ODOT’s weekly update regarding road
construction/repair. The group discussed
the weekend rain which is still putting a damper on various engineering
projects.
A brief discussion was held concerning the proposed canoe
launch, which may be sited off Route 15.
Easement locations and right-of-way must be determined before the
project can continue. The Engineer’s
office will determine site size. The
County will submit a grant request to NatureWorks for this project in February,
2004.
The Board also discussed the Ethanol Plant project with Mr.
Davis, reviewing information they received during a meeting with Paulding

10:30 a.m. Otto Gerdeman, Poggemeyer Design Group,
met with the Board with information regarding the installation of an elevator in
the Hicksville Senior
Services Center. Diane Mayer, Senior Services Center Director,
Ron Elliott, Poggemeyer Design Group, and Ed Recker, American Home Elevator Company,
Holland, Ohio.
The Board is interested in information to install a small
elevator in the Hicksville Senior
Services Center. Mr. Recker handed out various brochures and reviewed
various types of elevators (vertical lift, limited use, open and closed shaft, weight
limits, etc.) and the required codes for type and installation. Various elevator units that would fit the
space requirements of the Center were reviewed.
Estimated cost for one of the acceptable elevators is $25,000,
installed, but that price does not include the cost of the shaft. Mr. Elliott estimated that total costs (site
prep,
electrical, elevator, etc.) might be up to $70,000. Poggemeyer will obtain a more accurate
estimate of costs before a final determination is made by the Board. The Board is hoping to apply and receive CDBG
funds in late 2004 for this project.
Today’s meeting adjourned at 11:17
a.m.
