DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, AUGUST 16, 2010

 

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Chairman James E. Harris, Jr. called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners Thomas L. Kime and Otto L. Nicely, Stephanie Metz, Clerk and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk. 

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents.  The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners for an update.  Warren informed the Commissioners that the Cement Stabilization contractor has completed their work on Krouse Road and Blosser Road; the Microsurfacing contractor has completed their work on Behrens Road, at the intersection of Domersville Road and Banner School Road, and at the intersection of Elliott Road and Domersville Road.  Roadside grading work is continuing on Openlander Road north of State Route 18; Farmer-Mark Road north of State Route 18, and Glenburg Road south of Defiance-Williams County Line Road.  The Chip sealing contractor will be back in the County possibly next week to continue.  750 tons of road salt is being delivered per the contract for storage for the upcoming season.

 

Greg Reinhart, Wastewater Operations, met with the Commissioners for an update. Greg informed the Commissioners that the following repairs were completed:  changed fuses at Belden’s; installed pump at Middle Gordon Creek; smoke tested at Belden’s; worked on pump timer and motor starter at Middle Gordon Creek; replaced grinder on Oak Forest Drive; pumped Belden’s primary tank; opened up return sludge line at Evansport.

 

The Commissioners attended the Four County Solid Waste Board of Directors meeting.
