Kime, Otto L. Nicely and Richard L. Cromwell.  Also present was Becky Wagner, Administrator, Alison Grimes, Clerk and Joan Brown, Deputy Clerk.

8:30 a.m.        General Session – Commissioners approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents, approved several travel requests, reviewed the agenda items and the calendar of events, discussed upcoming meetings and updated information for the calendar of events.   The Board discussed various meetings each attended during County Commissioner Days (August 19 and 20) in Greene County.

The Board was informed that the Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive, metallic wood-boring beetle from Asia, has been detected in the Hicksville area in Defiance County.  Affected trees have been quarantined.  The devastating disease, affecting ash trees, has killed thousands of trees in Michigan.  For more information concerning this disease, please contact the Defiance branch of the OSU Extension office at 419.782.4771.

At 9:30 a.m., Randy Vogel, County Humane Agent, met briefly with the Board.  He noted that the summer’s door-to-door checking of dog tags was successful.  Approximately 85 tags were sold by this method to owners who had not obtained tags for their dog(s).

10:00 a.m.      Becky Wagner, County Administrator, presented her weekly update for the Commissioners.

Three quotes were received for the purchase of a 5-well steam table for the Senior Services Center:
