MONDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2010
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at
8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Conference Room in the
Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance,
Ohio 43512. Chairman James E. Harris,
Jr. called the meeting to
order. Also present were Commissioners Thomas L.
Kime and Otto L. Nicely, Stephanie Metz,
Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk.
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed
various resolutions, contracts and documents.
The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed
upcoming meetings.
Matt Davis, Maumee Valley Planning Organization, and Mike Walker and
Bart Schwarzbek, Village of Sherwood, met with the Commissioners for a public
hearing to amend the Fiscal Year 2009 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Formula Allocation Program. The
Commissioners approved amending Project #3: Village of Sherwood Flood &
Drainage Project from 2 culverts and 2 catch basins on US Rt
127 and SR 18 to 16 Manhole Repairs, various locations, alleviating drainage
issues.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners
for his weekly update. Warren provided
the 2010 Accumulated Revenue Report. The
accumulated revenue through September was $3,072,727.46 compared to
$3,029,971.73 for 2009. Warren informed
the Board that the Stever Road bridge was paved last
week and is waiting on guard rail installation to open. The beams were set on the Mulligans Bluff
Road bridge.
This bridge will finish up next week during the next training
session. Behnfeldt Road will close at
the end of the week for bridge replacement.
Roadside grading work is being completed on Banner School Road at Tinora
School.
Kevin Hancock, Defiance County Ditch Maintenance, met with the
Commissioners to discuss contract services work. Kevin stated that if the weather cooperates
he will be able to get additional work done on Behrens Ditch, Sutphen Road
Ditch and Bauer Jt. Ditch.
The Commissioners held a study session.
On Tuesday, October 12, 2010, the Commissioners met with Village of
Sherwood officials and ODOT officials to discuss guardrail concerns on US
127.
