DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2010

 

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Chairman James E. Harris, Jr. called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners Thomas L. Kime and Otto L. Nicely, Laura Howell, Administrator, Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk. 

 

Russ Herman, Defiance County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, met with the Commissioners for an update.

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents.  The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.  

 

Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, Tony Zartman and Tony Burkley, Paulding County Commissioners, Travis McGarvey, Paulding County Engineer, and John Puente, ODOT District One, met with the Commissioners to discuss a bike path on County Road 424 (Old US 24).  ODOT will be paving this road during 2011; with that project, they will change the road striping to have a 2.5’ shoulder, an 11’ lane, an 11.5’ lane, and a 5’ bike trail in both Paulding and Defiance Counties.  This will not include the area of US 127 at this time.

 

Greg Reinhart, Wastewater Operations, met with the Commissioners for an update.  Greg informed the Board of the following repairs being done:  installed new blower at Evansport; installed new belts for blowers at Beldens and Auglaize Pines; changed grinder pump on Ralston Avenue; finished winterizing pump stations and plants.

 

Ken Keller, First Insurance & Investments, met with the Commissioners to discuss the employee health insurance renewal. 

 

The Commissioners held a budget hearing for Municipal Court and served at the DASH Pancake and Sausage Supper.
