The Board of Defiance County Commissioners
met at 8:30 a.m. in the Conference
Room of the Board of County Commissioners, 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance,
Ohio 43512
on Thursday, November 20, 2003. The meeting was called to order by Thomas
Kime, Chairman. Present were Commissioners
Thomas L. Kime, Otto L. Nicely and Richard L.
Cromwell. Also present was Joan Brown,
Deputy Clerk; and Sherry Carnahan, Deputy Clerk (9:30
a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
sessions) .
8:30 a.m. General
Session – Commissioners signed various resolutions, travel requests, reviewed
the agenda items, the calendar of events, discussed upcoming meetings and
updated information for the calendar of events.
9:30 a.m. Ken Maag of
Poggemeyer Design Group met with the Board to open bids for the Sanitary Sewer
Rehabilitation: Amber Oaks/Christi
Meadows Phase I and Christi Meadows/South of P.S. Phase II. Also present was Jim Fortune representing
MCSP of Cincinnati, a supplier.

The bids were taken under advisement until a recommendation
is received from the engineer.
10:00 a.m. The Board met with Tod
Hug and Dan Schall, Superintendent and Treasurer of Ayersville Local School
District, to review information regarding an Enterprise Zone Agreement with
General Motors. Also present were: Bruce Colwell representing Richland Township
Trustees; Paul Murcko and Joe Eureste
representing UAW Local 211; Jerry Hayes,
Director of Economic Development; and Todd Helberg, The Crescent-News reporter.
11:00 a.m. Ken Keller of First Insurance and Investments
met with the Board to review information for renewal of health insurance for
county employees.
1:30 p.m. The Board met with David Williams, Defiance
City Attorney; and Lee Sonnenburg of Rural
Development to review the city/county agreement for the Indian Bridge Lane
Sewer project.
Today’s meeting adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
