The Board of
The Commissioners signed the
resolution authorizing the issuance of $114,000 of notes to pay the cost of
acquiring, constructing and equipping airport facilities consisting of a hangar
located at the
Becky
Wagner, Defiance County Administrator met with the Commissioners for her weekly
update.
Becky informed the Commissioners
that she met with Warren Schlatter regarding the treasurer’s drop box. The flow of traffic recently changed with the
entrance to Court Street coming off
Becky also informed the Board
there will be five to six truck loads of dirt delivered to the animal shelter
from the Clinton Circle Apartments contractor.
The dirt will be used to level off the ground at the site of the new
animal exercise building.
Becky also updated the
Commissioners on the new Aviation Radar weather service equipment that was
installed at the Defiance County Emergency/ Public Safety building in
Brunersburg. This new equipment is a digital and graphical forecaster. This system replaces the old Data Transmission
Network (DTN) formerly used to detect threatening weather.
Tim Houck came in for his
monthly update along with associates from Mannik & Smith and Dick Sergeant
of Eastman and Smith to update the Commissioners on the landfill expansion project.
Mr. Sergeant explained that
all of the necessary paperwork is completed and is on track but said they will
need to continue to push to keep the project on its current schedule. The current plan is to be able to utilize one
of the new cells beginning in the summer of 2007.
Mr. Sergeant also mentioned
the ideal time to bid the liner project would be in January or February of
2007. The bid packages will describe the
requirements and qualifications that will be required of all of those individuals
bidding the job. Award of the bid
documents will be based on price as well as qualifications of the contractors
submitting the bids.
Tim also reported the annual
cubic yard totals are at 290,335 yards year to date. The year to date tons reported are at 98,333. The leachate year to date gallon total is
currently 690,930 gallons through October.
Tim noted the Hicksville
Transfer Station brought in $1,336 for the month of October and a year to date
total of $11,132.
