The Board of
General Session – The Commissioners were presented with various
resolutions and documents for approval. The
Commissioners reviewed agenda items, discussed upcoming meetings, and reviewed
and updated the calendar of events.
The Commissioners received a report from Jane Tadsen, Defiance County
Recorder. Jane recorded the following
instruments: Deeds -164, Mortgages –
261, Releases – 212, Leases – 2, Power of Attorneys – 4, Soldiers Discharge –
1.
Jane also reported the total of the month of November was $32,255.00 of
which $15,847.50 for the Housing Trust and $16,407.50 for the General Fund.
The Commissioners approved the Defiance County Privacy & Security
Handbook.
Cindy Mack from the Defiance Development and Visitors Bureau came in to talk
to the Board about effects of the transition from the Greater Defiance Area
Tourism and Visitors Bureau to Defiance Development and Visitors Bureau.
Cindy’s goal is to not just promote tourism in the City of
Cindy also discussed the Visitors Bureau goals for 2007 as being a
continuation of many of the efforts that have taken place over the years with
the Visitors Bureau. There will be a reevaluation
of efforts and their effectiveness, coordination of agencies area-wide in
marketing and promotional materials such as maps, calendars, informational
materials and brochures. There will be
less duplication of the same efforts with agencies such as the Chamber,
Economic Development, City and County.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met briefly with the Board
of County Commissioners.
The Commissioners then met with Defiance County Emergency Management
Director
Larry mentioned there were very few changes to the coverage. The property values of the buildings and
bridges went up, the contents of the buildings went down and the contractor’s
equipment values are up from 2006.
The Commissioners then met briefly with Ken Maag with Poggemeyer Design
Group regarding the Auglaize Sewer project.
Ken advised he would submit the paperwork for the permits and purchase
the easements.
