COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2005
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session
at 8:30 a.m. in the
Conference Room of the Board of Defiance County
Commissioners, 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512 on Monday December 5, 2005. The meeting was called to order by Chairman
Otto L. Nicely. Also present were
Commissioners Thomas L. Kime and
Richard L. Cromwell; Becky Wagner,
Administrator, Lyla Gurwell Clerk, and Joanne Goerlitz, Deputy Clerk.
8:30
A.M. General Session Clerk, Lyla Gurwell presented various resolutions, contracts
and documents for approval of the Commissioners. Commissioners also approved several travel
requests, reviewed the agenda items and the calendar of events, discussed
upcoming meetings and updated information for the calendar of events.
10:00 A.M. Defiance
County Engineer Warren Schlatter presented his update on revenue for 2005. Warren
mentioned his revenue is getting closer to being back on track based on income from
license plate fees and gas taxes.
- Discussed briefly
the Elliott Road
project. Warren told the Commissioners that there will
be approximately 8 parcels that will have permanent easements and 12 temporary
easements. This project will bid early
next year.
10:30 A.M. Defiance County Waste
Water Operations Manager came in along with Ken Maag, Poggemeyer Design Group
and Tim Smith representative for Rolling Hills Community to discuss the
calibration of a new flow meter installed in August. Ken Maag indicated upon his review the
calibrations were correct based on the paperwork he had received. Greg Reinhart
Defiance County Waste Water Operations Manager will immediately begin taking
readings from the new meter.
11:00 A.M. The
Commissioners held a brief budget meeting with Russ Herman, Assistant
Prosecuting Attorney.
- Discussed
application to transfer funds for the Defiance County East building. The Commissioners will review the documents
for approval.
1:30 P.M. Highland
Township Trustees discussed the Township waste water issues with the
Commissioners. The decision was made to
let the Township Trustees work with Ayersville Water & Sewer Board. The Commissioners will be sending a letter to
the Ayersville Water & Sewer Board.
2:15 P.M. Defiance County
Treasurer, Karen Tubbs and Auditor Marlene Goodwin came in to complete the
paperwork for the Airport Private Activity Bond. The Commissioners signed the resolution
during the December 2, 2005 session.
