The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30
a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners
Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio
43512. Chairman James E. Harris,
Jr. called the meeting to
order. Also present were Commissioners Otto L. Nicely
and Thomas L. Kime, Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk.
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed
various resolutions, contracts and documents.
The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed
upcoming meetings.
The Commissioners approved an Expedited Type 2 Annexation for 0.66
Acres of Real Estate in Defiance Township into the City of Defiance. This area is located on Procom Drive.
The Commissioners approved an Expedited Type 2 Annexation for 9.338
Acres of Real Estate in Richland Township into the City of Defiance. This area is between East Second Street and
Hopkins Street and Hickory Street and Buckeye Street.
The Commissioners awarded the bid for the 2011 Sheriff Cruiser to Mark
Moats Ford in the amount of $20,999.00 for a Crown Victoria.
Ken Maag, Poggemeyer Design Group, and Greg Reinhart, Defiance County
Wastewater Operations, met with the Commissioners to discuss the Auglaize River
Sewer Project. Dirt work is completed on
the lagoon. Underground Utilities is
continuing to work on line installation.
The Commissioners’ Office is closed on Friday, December 31, 2010 in
observance of New Year’s Day.
