DEFIANCE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2007
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session
at 8:30 a.m. on Monday,
December 31, 2007 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500
Court Street, Suite A, Defiance,
Ohio 43512. Chairman Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to
order. Also
present were Commissioners Thomas L. Kime and James E. Harris, Jr., Laura
Howell, County Administrator, and Cara Brown, Clerk.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer,
provided his update to the Commissioners. Warren
advised that due to the new U.S. 24 project, Adams Ridge Road is now a dead-end and Defiance-Paulding County Line Road
will become a dead-end. Effective in early February 2008, the intersections of
Adams Ridge and Jewell Roads and the Defiance-Paulding County Line and
Whetstone Roads will be 4-way stops. Beginning in February, 2009, the stop
signs on Jewell Road
and Whetstone Road
will be removed.
Warren also submitted
his bridge inspection report to the Commissioners.
The Commissioners met with Edwin Gehring of Toledo to discuss Mr. Gehring’s being the Apiary Inspector
for Defiance County. Mr. Gehring was hired as Defiance County’s Apiary Inspector, effective
January 1, 2008. The Apiary season runs from approximately April 1 – October
30, 2008.
The Joint Board of Supervisors of Defiance
and Williams Counties are having a meeting on Lick
Creek on January 3, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Williams County Commissioners Office.
The Commissioners will attend the meeting.
