Captain Engel is a 17-year veteran of the Defiance County Sheriff's Office and has held various positions. Captain Engel has served as a Road Deputy, K-9 Officer, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, and Lieutenant. Captain Engel's position now allows him to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff's Office. Captain Engel received an associate's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo.
