Great American Clean Up 2011 Results

On March 25th and 26th, Defiance County Environmental Services KAB participated in the Great American/Keep Ohio Beautiful State Roadway Cleanup. Defiance County Environmental Services and the Ohio Department of Transportation coordinated County, State and City roads to be cleaned during this event.

Defiance County had 70 volunteers for this event. Over 38 miles of road ways was picked up! This litter event removed 10 tires and 123 bags of trash from our roads. 2460 pounds of litter was removed, and disposed of at the landfill.

Additional activities for the Great American Clean Up included: City Park Clean Up, Maumee River Sweep, and 16 recycle locations, Triangle Park Clean Up, Sherwood Village Clean up, Diehl Park Event, Hicksville Beautification and county beautification events. We have had over 3458 volunteers at these events.
