Association of Ohio Recyclers (AOR)
FREE State-Wide Materials Exchange Website Now Available
For the last year, the Association of Ohio Recyclers (AOR), the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO), and partnering state agencies have worked with Hyperactive, a web design company, to improve and update the website for the Ohio Materials Exchange (OMex).OMex is a free state-wide industrial materials exchange, similar to a want-ad. Members post materials they either need or would like to get rid of in a safe, environmentally compliant method. Since 1998, OMex has tracked over 5.4 million pounds of materials diverted from landfills.
New interactive tools allow members access to the exchange 24 hours a pay, 7 days a week. To become a member, simply register on the new website. Using the site and becoming a member is free. Once you become a member, you will have access to deleting, adding or editing your listings at any time. You’ll also be notified when the materials you want become available, and you’ll be able to perform several searches to find different materials. To learn more about all the new user-friendly functions, or to become a member, please visit www.aor-omex.org.
The mission of the Association of Ohio Recyclers is to promote recycling and waste prevention while serving our members through information exchange, education, networking and advocacy.
AOR meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at ODNR office in Columbus. All members of AOP are welcome at the monthly board meetings. For more information about AOR, please contact Christy Kellner at (513) 946-7732 or email her at Christy.kellner@hamilton-co.org.
