Family & Children First Council

Since 1995, the Defiance County Family and Children First Council (FCFC) has served as a community planning partnership. The FCFC is a cost-effective, team-driven organization that brings families, community and government together to help prevent and solve problems. The FCFC has been a proven vehicle for implementation of policies and effective utilization of resources as directed by the Ohio Revised Code 121.37.
We strive to:
- Build Community Capacity - mobilize the community around issues related to families and children and engage them in action.
- Coordinate Systems of Service - provide a formal venue to facilitate the alignment of resources, policies, and services in an effort to reduce duplication of effort between organizations. This helps us make better decisions that lead to wiser investments of public dollars.
- Engage & Empower Families - recruit and support families to become active, contributing partners so they can advocate on behalf of families and children.
- Share Accountability - monitor, evaluate, and communicate our impact to assure all families and children thrive.
We want Defiance County to be a place where families and build upon their heritage, feel secure in the present and reach for the future.
