Your dog is described as vicious if, without provocation, it has killed or seriously injured a person, caused injury (less than serious or killing) to any person, has killed another dog, or belongs to a breed that is commonly known as a pit bull dog
For more information on laws governing the ownership of dangerous breeds, contact the Defiance County Humane Agent office for a brochure entitled, "Vicious Dog Laws in Ohio."
All owners of vicious dogs are required to obtain liability insurance with an insurer authorized in this state providing coverage of not less than $100,000.
