We are dedicated to serving victims of crime through support and intervention. We help victims become whole again and lead normal, healthy, productive lives, thereby breaking the cycle of abuse.
SARAH's House is a comfortable homelike atmosphere where Law Enforcement and Children's Services personnel interview victims of crime and their families. When clients arrive at SARAH's House, Cordi Smith, a very friendly receptionist, greets them. Cordi is very knowledgeable in the criminal justice field, and will do everything she can to eliminate any anxiety felt by victims and their families.
At SARAH's House, a very skilled team of investigators is called in, thus eliminating the need for multiple interviews.
We also provide referrals to necessary social agencies. Sometimes, victims and their families will need assistance from mental health providers, help with financial obligations, legal assistance, and a multitude of other needs. We are here to meet those needs.
Sally King is the Victim Advocate for Defiance County. Sally has been an advocate for over 20 years. She specializes in sexual assault. Although she works with ALL crime victims, children are her area of expertise. Sally says, "It is extremely important to me that when a child comes to SARAH's House to be interviewed, they leave here with a little more hope and self assurance. Furthermore, I want them to know that we are always available to help them, day or night. I do what I do because I love what I do."
When invited, SARAH's House staff will provide public speaking, education, and training to anyone that needs their help.

Our normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. However, the facility and its staff are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist clients.
