Defiance County Senior Services Advisory Board
The Advisory Board's mission statement is: To enhance the independent lifestyle of Defiance County Residents who are 60 years and older by providing guidance, support and advice to the Director of Defiance County Senior Services.


The Advisory Board reviews Senior Service programs and services.  The Advisory Board is made up of ten individuals from all walks of life, who reside in Defiance County.  The Board members are appointed by the Board of Defiance County Commissioners.  For more information on the Defiance County Senior Services Advisory Board, please contact DCSS Director, Tina Hiler, at (419) 782-3233 or E-mail at

Defiance County Senior Services Auxiliary
The Defiance County Senior Services Auxiliary's Mission Statement is: To Assist In The Betterment Of Defiance County Senior Services Through Positive Public Awareness And Recruitment Of Public Support.
Auxiliary member consist of active members, persons who have the interest Defiance County Senior Services at heart and who give freely of their time and energy to assist in carrying out the programs at Defiance County Senior Services.
The Auxiliary was started in 1997 by Helen Moser and Betty Smith. Betty has since passed away, but Helen Moser still hosts a monthly card tournament as a fundraising effort.  More and more people wanted to get involved with Defiance County Senior Services and the Auxiliary, so a structured Auxiliary was formed in 2000.  The Auxiliary has set one of its main goals, to raise funds for a new Senior Center.  The Auxiliary conducts social trips and other fundraisers throughout the year, including an annual televised, live auction - The Seniors with a Heart Auction.
