The Defiance County Health Department
Join us on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. for Blood Pressures. Join us on the 4th Thursday of the month at 8:30 a.m. for the "60+ Health Screening" which includes: Blood Pressures, Blood Sugars and Weight Check information For more information feel free to browse the Defiance County Health Department web page.
Telephone Reassurance
The Check and Chat Program assists homebound, ill or isolated Seniors with a friendly, pre-arranged phone visit. Please call Colleen at (419) 782-3233 for details.
Stimulus Payment Assistance
We are currently assisting people 60 years and older with the filing of the Stimulus Payment of $300 from the US Government. If you already filled out a 1040 Federal Tax Return, you will need to nothing more to receive your Stimulus Payment. BUT - If you do not file a Federal Tax Form (1040A), you will need to file in order to receive the Stimulus Payment. Forms and assistance are available at the Defiance County Senior Services. We will help you file for this $300 Stimulus Check. Please call Kathy at (419) 782-3233 to set up your appointment. If you are unable to drive in, we will visit you and assist you in filling out the 1040 Tax Form. We will need you to provide a statement of the amount of your 2007 Social Security benefits. Assistance can also be obtained at The Volunteer Connection or at the IRS Website.
