The Board of
Tom Sanders, Interim Dog Warden, submitted his December 2007 report to
the Commissioners. In the month of December, the Dog Warden’s office received
71 complaints, of these complaints, 38 were within the City. There were 8
citations and 15 warnings issued. Twenty-three (23) dogs were taken to the
shelter and 1,480 pounds of animals were taken to the Landfill.
Laura Howell, Administrator, provided her Operations update to the
Commissioners. Laura advised the heating and air conditioning unit for the
Child Support Agency needs repairs and that Ron Cereghin, Maintenance
Supervisor, would be obtaining quotes to have it fixed.
Laura also advised that elected and certain non-elected officials and
administrators are required to have National Incident Management System (NIMS)
Training. Participation of the elected and certain non-elected officials and
administrators in NIMS training is required in order for Counties, Townships,
Cities/Villages, ect. to receive and/or keep Federal Grant monies.
Greg Reinhart, Wastewater Director, and Jan Roehrig, Wastewater Clerk,
met with the Commissioners to provide the December 2007 monthly update. The
budget reports look good for this past month. Greg reported that he is
currently working with Gorman-Rupp to repair the bubbler system on the Express
Sewer. He also advised that all the treatment plants and pump stations have
been winterized.
Tim also reported the yearly/monthly cubic yards comparison total for
2007 is 498,801 vs. 359,650 for 2006.
The yearly/monthly tons comparison total submitted for 2007 was
112,001.76 tons vs. 116,917.92 tons in 2006.
In 2007, the total gallons of leachate collected was 3,262,994.00.
Tim will be opening bids on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. for
the construction of the BAT Cell Phase II construction in the Commissioners
meeting room.
Sophie Baj of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers met with the Commissioners
to discuss potential money for the Auglaize Sewer System. Ken Maag of
Poggemeyer Design Group was also present to discuss the plans for the sewer
system with Ms. Baj.
The Commissioners attended the Annual Township Trustees & Elected
Officials meeting at the Emergency Management Building in Brunersburg on
Thursday evening.
