DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2012

 

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Chairman Thomas L. Kime called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioner Otto L. Nicely, Laura Howell, Administrator, Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk. 

 

The Commissioners attended the Defiance City Schools Informational Breakfast at the Defiance Eagles

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents.  The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

Laura Howell, Administrator, met with the Board to provide her weekly update with various department and project updates. Laura informed the Commissioners that there are currently 138 residents, plus Belden’s subdivision hooked up to the Auglaize River Sewer Project. All residents are to be hooked up by February 13, 2012.

 

Julie Rittenhouse, Defiance County Public Safety, met with the Commissioners for an update. Julie informed the Commissioners that she has received the following 50% reimbursement Emergency Management Performance Grant deposits in: 3rd Quarter - $1,636.42; 4th Quarter - $11,682.69; 5th Quarter - $12,965.10.

 

Cecilia Parsons, Defiance County Recorder, recently submitted her monthly report for January, 2012. The following instruments were recorded: 112 deeds, 170 mortgages, 8 other liens, 207 releases, 4 power of attorney, 2 plats, and 2 leases. There was $25,631.95 in total receipts, of which $11,185.85 went to the Housing Trust Fund and $12,470.10 went to the General Fund.
