The Board of
Randy Vogel, Dog Warden, presented his monthly update to the Board. For
the month of January, his office received 66 complaints. Of these complaints,
36 were within the City. Eleven calls were investigated, eight warning were
issued and 11 dogs were taken to the shelter.
Laura Howell,
Administrator, provided the Commissioners with her update. Laura advised that the City is continuing to
work through the intersection at
Laura informed the
Board that Help Me Grow will be holding early childhood screening at Zion’s
Lutheran Church on March 3rd. This screening is for all
The Defiance County
Landfill and the engineering firm The Mannik & Smith Group, received an
Honor Award at the American Council of Engineering Companies award presentation
last week in
Tim Houck, Landfill Manager, submitted his monthly financial report for
revenue & expenses for the Landfill.
The sales summary total for January, 2008 was $265,656.01. The annual
tons total to date is 6294.47 and the annual cubic yards are 33,325.
Tim also reported the yearly/monthly cubic yards comparison for 2008 is
33,325 vs. 34,795 for this same time in 2007.
The yearly monthly tons comparison submitted for 2008 was 6,294.47 tons
vs. 8,372.67 tons in January 2007.
Leachate monthly gallon total for the month of January was 289,314.00.
Morris Murray, Child
Support Enforcement Agency Director, met with the Commissioners to provide an
update. In 2007, the agency had 3001 open cases and collected $7,591,251 in
support payments. Morris also reviewed the IV-D services contracts the Child
Support Agency has with the Common Pleas Court and the Clerk of Courts.
Jack Graf, Job &
Family Services Director, met with the Commissioners in Executive Session to
discuss personnel matters. Executive Session ended with no decision being made.
There will be no
session on Monday, March 3, 2008 due to the Commissioners attending the
National Association of Counties Conference.
