COMMISSIONERS
THURSDAY, MARCH 1, 2007
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session
at 8:30 a.m. in the
Hicksville Village Council Room, Hicksville,
Ohio on Thursday, March 1, 2007. Chairman Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to
order. Also present were Commissioner
James E. Harris, Jr., and Joanne Goerlitz, Deputy Clerk.
General Session – The Commissioners were presented with various
resolutions and documents for approval. The
Commissioners reviewed agenda items, discussed upcoming meetings, and reviewed
and updated the calendar of events.
The Joint Board of County Commissioners of Defiance
and Williams County met in Ney and signed a
Resolution retaining the legal services of the law firm of Shumaker, Loop &
Kendrick, LLP for the Lost Creek and
Lick Creek Projects. Legal services will
be in the nature of legal advice and recommendations as to documents and
proceedings in connection with the projects.
The Joint Board of County Commissioners of Defiance
and Williams County also set a minimum construction
cost of $100.00 per parcel for the Lost Creek Project.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, has reviewed the 2007
Crushed Aggregate Bids and has recommended to the Commissioners that the bids be
awarded to all suppliers that have submitted bids. Upon recommendation from the County Engineer,
the Commissioners awarded the 2007 Crushed Aggregate Bid to Custar Stone Co.,
Stonco, Inc. Scott Quarry, Stonco, Inc. Auglaize Quarry and Stafford Gravel.
Tim Houck, Landfill Director, met with the Commissioners for the bid
opening of a New D8R - 03 Undercarriage and Boggy Wheels Replacement. One bid was received from Ohio CAT, Perrysburg, OH
in the amount of $73,502.18. The bid
will be taken under advisement and awarded at a later date.
