DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 2012

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Chairman Thomas L. Kime called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioner James E. Harris, Jr., Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk.

Due to other meetings, the Commissioners will not be having session on Thursday, March 8, 2012. They instead met on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in regular session.

Jerry Hayes, Defiance County Economic Development, met with the Commissioners for an update.

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

The Commissioners accepted the retirement notice of Defiance County Job and Family Services Director Jack Graf as of May 31, 2012. The Board directed the Administrator to beginning working with Mr. Graf for finding a replacement.

Tim Houck, Defiance County Environmental Services/Landfill Director, met with the Commissioners to provide an update on various pending legislative matters concerning solid waste.

The Commissioners recently received the monthly report for February 2012 from Defiance County Recorder Cecilia Parsons. The total instruments filed were as follows: deeds – 144; mortgages – 167; other liens – 17; releases – 193; power of attorney – 6; soldiers discharge – 5; leases – 1. Total receipts were $25,741.50, of which $12,497.00 was deposited in the Housing Trust Fund and $11,212.50 in the General Fund.
