DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

THURSDAY, APRIL 26, 2012

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Chairman Thomas L. Kime called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioners Otto L. Nicely and James E. Harris, Jr., Laura Howell, Administrator, Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk.

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

Laura informed the Board that an Annual Report was created for the departments under the Commissioners’ Office (Child Support, Commissioners, Dog Warden, Environmental Services/Landfill, Family & Children First/Help Me Grow, Job & Family Services, Maintenance, Public Safety Services, Records Center, Senior Services, and Wastewater Operations) for 2011. This has been placed on the County’s website (www.defiance-county.com). Click on the drop down tab for the Commissioners’ under “Elected Officials”. There is a link in the menu for “Annual Report”.

The Commissioners attended the Joint Interstate DeKalb/Defiance/Williams County Board Big Run Drain Number 455-00-0 at the DeKalb County Courthouse in Auburn, Indiana. The Joint Board reviewed the submitted bid and rejected the only bid received. DeKalb County will be re-bidding the project.
