The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30
a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 in the Hicksville Village Council Room,
Hicksville, Ohio. Chairman James E. Harris,
Jr. called the meeting to
order. Also present were Commissioners Otto L. Nicely
and Thomas L. Kime, Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk.
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed
various resolutions, contracts and documents.
The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed
upcoming meetings.
The Commissioners approved an agreement between Defiance
County Child Support Enforcement Agency and Maximus, Inc. for QuIC+/RMS
Software. The Board also approved a License Agreement with RC Addicts for the
Sauers Avenue property.
The Commissioners awarded the Krause Ditch #04-02 bid to
Matt Crum Excavating in the amount of $38,690.00.
Mayor Haver, Village of Hicksville, met with the
Commissioners to discuss the Board of Commissioners handling the grant
application process for the drainage around Community Memorial Hospital.
Larry Tomlinson, a concerned citizen, met with the
Commissioners to discuss his concerns with the speed limit on Casebeer-Miller
Road at Hidden Brook Drive. As this
section of road is maintained by Hicksville Township, the Board informed Mr.
Tomlinson that his concerns will be directed to the Defiance County Engineer
and Hicksville Township Trustees.
Matt Gilroy,
Airport Authority, and Steve Slusher, Stantec, met with the Commissioners to
open bids for the Defiance Memorial Airport Parallel Taxiway Construction Phase
II. The following bids were received:
Ward Construction: Base bid-$299,839.76 & Alternate bid-$$300,440.00; Anderzack-Pitzen:
Base bid-$407,290.56 & Alternate bid-$278,170.00. The work in the Base bid is grading and
drainage. The work in the Alternate bid
is aggregate, asphalt and paint striping.
The Board took the bids under advisement and will award at a later date.
