COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, JUNE 11, 2012
The Board of
Morris Murray, Defiance County Prosecuting Attorney, and Russ Herman,
Defiance County Assistant Prosecutor, met with the Commissioners for an update
on various pending legal matters.
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed
various resolutions, contracts and documents.
The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed
upcoming meetings.
Warren Schlatter,
Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners for his weekly update. Warren
informed the Commissioners that beam were set on the Mulligans Bluff Road bridge on Friday. Ditch grading and driveway work is
continuing on Krouse Road. There is some hanging
rebar and concrete that is being removed on Monday on the Hopkins Street bridge.
Greg Reinhart,
Defiance County Wastewater Operations Director, met with the Commissioners for
an update. Greg reported the following repairs: installed new soft start motor
at Express; changed grinder on Oak Forest Drive; removed tree that fell on
fence at Auglaize lagoon; worked on blower line on Middle Gordon Creek; cleaned
pumps on Auglaize River Sewer. Greg reported in May there was $58,962.34 billed
out, $58,198.59 collected and expenses of $42,883.41.
Niki Warncke,
Maumee Valley Planning Organization, met with the Commissioners for the Second
Public Hearing for FY 2012 Formula Allocation Program. The hearing was attended
by the public. They were given the opportunity to provide questions and
comments regarding the funding process. The Commissioners authorized and
directed the President of the Board to submit a FY 2012 Formula Allocation
Program grant allocation for the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant
funds to the Ohio Department of Development.
The Commissioners
attended the Northwest Ohio Commissioners and Engineers Quarterly Association
meeting in Lima, Ohio.
The Commissioners
recently received the monthly activity report from Cecilia Parsons, Defiance
County Recorder. Cecilia reports that during May 2012 the total instruments
filed were as follows: deeds – 191; mortgages – 243, other liens – 11; releases
– 248; power of attorney – 11; soldiers discharge – 2. Total receipts were
$34,107.25, of which $16,752.00 went to the Housing Trust Fund and $14,627.25
went to the General Fund.
