The Board of
The Commissioners met in General
Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents,
approved several travel requests, reviewed the agenda items and the calendar of
events and discussed upcoming meetings.
Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer,
met with the Commissioners for his weekly update.
Randy Vogel, Dog Warden, met with the
Commissioners for his update. Randy submitted his May 2008 report. In May, the
Dog Warden’s office received 148 complaints, made 327 personal contacts and
issued 41 citations. Forty-four dogs were taken to the shelter and 1,040 pounds
of animals were taken to the landfill.
Karen Tubbs, Treasurer, and Marlene Goodwin,
Auditor, met with the Commissioners for a bond anticipation note. These notes
were taken out to finance the Lost Creek and Highland Ditch construction
improvements. Funds collected from assessments will be used to pay these notes
off.
Paulding County Commissioners met with
Defiance County Commissioners to approve the 2009 Ditch assessments on the
Joint Ditches. These assessments will be added to the tax roll for 2009.
The Commissioners will be attending the 2008
Public Officials Tour hosted by the Defiance Soil & Water Conservation
District on Tuesday, June 24th.
