DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, JUNE 25, 2012

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Chairman Thomas L. Kime called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners Otto L. Nicely and James E. Harris, Jr., Laura Howell, Administrator, and Lanie Miller, Deputy Clerk. 

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents.  The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

Tim Houck, Defiance County Landfill Director, met with the Commissioners for an update. Tim reported during May sales of $244,677.93 from 8,027.42 tons and 26,317 cubic yards, compared to $240,281.09 from 8,750.02 tons and 26,471 cubic yards in May, 2011.  Tim reported that the school recycling has been completed for the 2011/2012 season and collected 29,590 pounds of recycling. 

 

The Commissioners met with Johns Manville to discuss the Defiance County Landfill Industrial Waste Generator Agreement for Landfill Disposal Services.

 

The Commissioners discussed open burning rules and regulations due to the current drought conditions.  The Commissioners scheduled a meeting on Monday, July 2nd to discuss with the Fire Chiefs, Township Trustees and County and City officials.
