DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, JULY 16, 2012

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Chairman Thomas L. Kime called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners Otto L. Nicely and James E. Harris, Jr., and Stephanie Metz, Clerk. 

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents.  The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

Sandra Schappert, Defiance County Child Support Enforcement Agency Director, met with the Commissioners for an update. Sandra informed the Commissioners that the State match was reduced by $1,300.00 based upon number of out of wedlock births and number of divorces or dissolutions. Collections for October, 2011 through June, 2012 are up 1.25% compared to October, 2010 through June, 2011. There were 34 paternities established, 85 Court and/or Administrative Hearings held and 54 support orders established.

 

Greg Reinhart, Defiance County Wastewater Operations Director met with the Commissioners for an update. Greg informed the Commissioners that the following repairs were made: quarterly grease and oil of all plants and pump stations; changed air filters in air pumps for bubbler systems; changed blower belt at Evergreen Lane Office Complex; fixed blower line at Middle Gordon Creek; changed fuse at Auglaize River Sewer pump station #1; replaced a pump at Auglaize River Sewer pump station #7. During June there was $58,871.94 billed out, $49,711.95 collected and expenses of $71,594.68.

 

The Commissioners recently received the monthly activity report from Amy Galbraith, Defiance County Clerk of Courts for June 2012. Amy reported collecting $7,889.09 in legal, $21,921.95 in title, $354,542.21 in sales or use and dealers’ tax and $7,400.54 in watercraft tax. There was $55,125.31 deposited in legal and $397,119.53 in title.  There were 1,706 titles issued, 474 notation of liens and 505 inspections.
