DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 2012

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Chairman Thomas L. Kime called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners Otto L. Nicely and James E. Harris, Jr., Laura Howell, Administrator, and Lanie Lambert, Deputy Clerk. 

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents.  The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

 

The Commissioners received a request from the Defiance County Dog Warden to raise the dog tag license fees beginning December 1, 2012.  This request is due to the increase in price of fuel and required implementation of HB 14, Dangerous and Vicious dog law.

 

Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners for an update.

Warren informed the Board that roadside grading work is being performed on Watson Road between Dohoney and Fullmer Road and on Bannerschool Road between St. Rt. 66 and Carpenter Road.  Warren stated that the Chip Seal contractor will start work this week on Ayersville Pleasant Bend Road between Fruit Ridge Road and Harris Road. 

 

Greg Reinhart, Defiance County Wastewater Operations Director met with the Commissioners for an update. Greg informed the Commissioners that the following repairs were made: replaced two grinder pumps one at Mirival Lane and one at Oak Forest Drive, switched air pump at DMP pump station, cleaned out pumps at Auglaize River Sewer Pump Station #7 and sprayed weeds at Evergreen Lane Wastewater Treatment Plant.  During July there was $58,776.74 billed out, $74.463.65 collected and expenses of $42,919.91.

 

Jerry Hayes, Defiance County Economic Development, met with the Commissioners for an update.
