COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2012
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at
8:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 in the Hicksville Village Council Room,
Hicksville, Ohio. Chairman Thomas L.
Kime called the meeting to order. Also present were
Commissioners James E. Harris, Jr. and Otto L. Nicely, Laura Howell, Administrator, Stephanie Metz, Clerk, and
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed
various resolutions, contracts and documents.
The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed
upcoming meetings.
Due to the low bidder for the Ridge Ditch-St. Mike’s Tile project not
being able to fulfill the contract requirements, the Commissioners awarded the
project to the second lowest bidder, Gerding Ditching LLC in the amount bid by
them of $16,800.00. This bid is $330.00 more than the lowest bid received.
The Commissioners approved closing all Defiance County Offices at noon on Monday, December 31, 2012 for New Year’s Eve. They also approved the following holiday schedule for 2013:

Laura Howell, Administrator, met with the
Board to provide her weekly update with various department and project updates.
There will be no session on Monday. The
Commissioners will be attending the CCAO/CEAO Winter
Conference on Monday and Tuesday.
