DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

THURSDAY, JANUARY 24, 2013

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Chairman Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioners James E. Harris, Jr. and Thomas L. Kime, Laura Howell, Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.

The Commissioners attended the “Health Care Reform Answers” seminar in the morning.

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

Laura Howell, Administrator, met with the Board to provide her weekly update with various department and project updates.

Greg Reinhart, Defiance County Wastewater Operations Director, met with the Commissioners for an update. Greg reported the following items being done: pulled and cleaned pumps at Auglaize River Sewer pump station # 7; finished winterizing pump stations; greased and oiled all plants and pump stations; worked on Paulding County’s Auglaize River Sewer pump stations 4, 5, and 6 with contractor for warranty work; jetted and vacuumed out line in Christy Meadows; primed pumps at Paulding County’s Auglaize River Sewer pump stations 4, 5, and 6; unplugged pump at Christy pump station. Greg reported billing out $59,198.54, collecting $2,033,671.43, and having expenses of $2,050,015.22 in December.

Niki Warncke, Maumee Valley Planning Organization, met with the Commissioners to provide an update on the FY12 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects.

The Commissioners attended the Annual Elected Officials’ and Township Trustees’ meeting at the EMA Building.
