DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

THURSDAY, JANUARY 31, 2013

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Chairman Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to order. Also present were Commissioners James E. Harris, Jr. and Thomas L. Kime, Laura Howell, Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.

The Commissioners attended the DeKalb-Defiance-Williams County Joint Interstate Board meeting. The bids received for the Periodic Maintenance of the Big Run Open Drain No. 455-00-0 to be presented. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $180,811.00. The following bids were received: Sand Ridge Excavating, Inc. - $280,482.00; Sieber Brothers - $158,812.40; Sines Excavating - $152,008.56; Tri County Excavating - $142,644.50. The Joint Board approved awarding the bid to Tri County Excavating.

The Commissioners will be meeting with Senator Hite on Friday for an informal update.
