COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, JULY 1, 2013
The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at
8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners’
Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512. Chairman Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to
order. Also present were Commissioner Thomas L.
Kime, Sherry Carnahan, Fiscal Manager/Administrator, and Lanie Lambert, Deputy Clerk.
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed
various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed
the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
The Commissioners approved the following Moving Ohio Forward Contracts:

Burton Bassett and
Nicki Bassett, Defiance County 4-H Teen Leaders, met with the Commissioners to
provide an update. The 4-H Teen Leaders
program is open to anyone in 4-H, age fourteen and in the seventh grade. The teen leaders participate in many
activities during the year, including: officer training at Fairview, Teen
Conference in Columbus, traveling to Defiance County schools during 4-H
promotion week and run the Shake Shack during the Defiance County Fair.
Eric Ratts, DLZ, met with the Commissioners for an update on the Courthouse
Project.
Sheriff Westrick and Mark Denning met with the Commissioners to review Court Security
for the former Municipal Court building.
Greg Reinhart, Defiance County Wastewater
Operations, met with the Commissioners to discuss the sewer rates at the potential
campground development at Christy Meadows.
