DEFIANCE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2013

 

The Board of Defiance County Commissioners met in regular session at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Conference Room in the Commissioners’ Office at 500 Court Street, Suite A, Defiance, Ohio 43512.  Chairman Otto L. Nicely called the meeting to order.  Also present were Commissioners James E. Harris, Jr. and Thomas L. Kime, Sherry Carnahan, Finance Manager/Administrator, and Stephanie Metz, Clerk.

 

The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.  

 

The Commissioners approved an Expedited Type 2 annexation petition for 0.918 acres in Section 12 of Noble Township.

 

Warren Schlatter, Defiance County Engineer, did not meet with the Commissioners for a weekly update, due to another meeting.

 

Greg Reinhart, Defiance County Wastewater Operations Director, met with the Commissioners for a monthly update. Greg reported the following repairs being completed in August: rebuilt the pump at Defiance County’s Auglaize River Sewer pump station #7; installed new air release valve at Defiance County’s Auglaize River Sewer pump station #6; sprayed the lagoons and pump stations for weed control; cleaned Defiance County’s Auglaize River Sewer pump station #7; primed and cleaned the transducer at Paulding County’s Auglaize River Sewer pump station #7. Greg reported billing out $59,611.54, collecting $87,031.04 and having expenses of $49,133.03 in August.

 

The Commissioners, along with the Defiance County Engineer, hosted the Northwest Ohio Commissioners and Engineers quarterly meeting. The event included a golf outing, a tour of Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO) and Northwest Ohio Juvenile Detention Center, a tour of various projects recently completed by the Engineer’s Office, a meeting and a dinner.
